The Raspberry Pi AI Kit includes the Raspberry Pi M.2 HAT+ and the Hailo AI acceleration module, offering a powerful solution for integrating high-performance AI with Raspberry Pi 5. The M.2 HAT+ facilitates seamless connection of M.2 peripherals like NVMe drives and AI accelerators to Raspberry Pi 5’s PCIe 2.0 interface, enabling fast data transfer speeds up to 500 MB/s. It supports M.2 devices in the 2230 and 2242 form factors, providing up to 3A power delivery to connected devices.

The Hailo AI module, with a 13 TOPS neural network inference accelerator based on the Hailo-8L chip, comes pre-installed in the M.2 HAT+. This module communicates via the M.2 interface to Raspberry Pi 5’s PCIe 2.0, delivering efficient AI processing capabilities.
